McKinney Fire Station No. 8 Replacement

The City of McKinney’s existing Fire Station No. 8 was originally a maintenance shed that was converted into a temporary station. After serving its function and providing fire protection in a growing area of the city after the last 13 years, the temporary building was no longer performing as needed to continue to function as a fire station. The city decided to demolish the existing temporary Fire Station No. 8 and rebuild a new, permanent station on the same site. The new 16,620 SF, three bay station will be home to eight staff plus two officers. The fire station will include living areas, interior and exterior exercise areas, work areas, and support areas. The overall design of the station will better represent the aesthetics of the surrounding neighborhood.
