Mckinney Christian Academy - Student Life Center
conduit architecture+design principal, Eric Ciskowski, performed as Project Manager for the Jim Wilson Architects designed Student Life Center for the McKinney Christian Academy. The approximately 29,000 square foot building is designed to be used as a multipurpose facility, and houses not only a gymnasium, athletic training facilities and locker rooms, but also a performing arts stage, band and choir rooms, a visual arts studio and kitchen. As the first constructed permanent building within the master plan for the 69-acre campus, the Student Life Center will set the tone for the rest of the campus development. The design uses creative elements to incorporate light into the facility, by using window awnings with light shelves and careful placements of walls and windows to capture as much natural light as possible. The building utilizes concrete tilt-wall construction with a brick veneer to create a clean and efficient design.
