McKinney Fire Station  No. 9

conduit architecture+design designed the City of McKinney’s Fire Station No. 9 located in the developing northwest area of the city.  The approximately 15,000 square-foot facility contains three apparatus bays, a large day room / dining / and kitchen area, a community room, 10 dormitories, an exercise room, a “cascade” room, captain’s quarters, offices and a laundry room. The building provides much needed protection for the quickly growing fire protection demands in the northwest area of the city. The design builds upon the tradition of the eight previously designed McKinney fire stations while incorporating fresh aesthetics and increased functionality. Training opportunities were carefully designed into the building, such as, rappelling hooks, climbing wall, confined space and manhole openings.

Station No. 9 was completed in April of 2018.
