Spoons Garage

The sister restaurant of the McKinney Historic Downtown Square iconic favorite, Spoon’s Café, desired a fresh new identity that would still identify with the family friendy eatery, but had a much more upscale, adult lounge and bar. Conduit worked closely with the restaurantor to help bring her multiple visions into focus. The design stripped the base to complexly expose the space’s original beginnings as a 1920’s garage. This includes concrete floors, brick, wood beams and columns. Exposed conduit and brick accent the new banquet seating and wall sconces. The new bar becomes the focal point of the space after entering past the original wood and glass overhead door reinstalled as an accent wall. A new, large overhead glass door was added to the exterior brick wall to open the space up to the narrow outdoor patio. A small and intimate lounge is hidden the rear of the space. Conduit worked with the owner to select lighting, finishes and a variety of seating to create different experiences throughout the tiny space.

The Garage was completed in September 2018.
